Ridley Scott was answering questions in LA during the Hero Complex Film Festival on Sunday. And surprise surprise the alien prequels came up.
SPOLIER ALERT!

-The scripts for both Prequels are complete.

-You’ll find out who the Space Jockey is and where he originally came from.

-The Prequel will go further into terraforming and focus on the reality of what it takes to leave for another planet.

-Ridley Scott also implied that the the Space Jockey isn’t a creature itself, it’s a suit with a being inside.
-Collider also posted their report and mentioned that he had done a lot of underwater research for the movies.

Sounds awesome, more details on the prequels as we get them.

Specail thanks to Avp Galaxy for the tip.

So the Jockey is really a suit? Never saw that one coming.

I kinda like the idea. From what we see in 'Alien', the Jockey looked like some sort of silly, elephant-faced thingy. If they make that a suit and get Giger onboard, he could come up something really cool inside...

Yeah, could be. Wink It'd have to be able to give birth to an Alien, so it couldn't be too crazy and out there. Wink

I think the Jockey will still look similar to the suit. In fact I think the suit acted more as a exo-skeleton to a already very bio-mechanical sentient.
